![]() If you need extra haste, spell power, crit or mp5 your gems should be filling the gap. Gems fill the niche that is lacking in your gear – this is especially true for healers who tend to focus less on hitting thresholds and more on making sure their stats are well-rounded. Therefore, when you most care about Earthliving, the Glyph is totally unnecessary. When targets are below 35% your heals automatically place Earthliving on them via Blessing of the Eternals talents. The time you really want it is on those targets that are getting totally crushed. Except in the few instances where the whole raid will be taking a lot of damage, a ton of your Earthliving effect will be overhealing. I read one guide that advocated getting GoEL (+5% to proc earth living weapon). ![]() I prefer GoLHW over GoES but it's your preference IMO. Increased duration of Riptide makes it a lot easier to get a CH off on the Riptide HOT for that 25% bonus. You will want to pick up Glyphs of Riptide, Chain Heal and either Lesser Healing Wave or Earth Shield. ![]() Enhancement talents are non-negotiable, you will always want those 16 over any others. If you find that's not the case, by all means spec into it. Usually, the 1 point in it + conc aura will be enough to get you through it. I don't fill Healing Focus because there really aren't that many times when you take constant AoE damage. I like to let the mages handle rare curse dispells. ![]() Opting out of Cleanse Spirit is a group option. As mana becomes less and less of an issues you might take a few out of Tidal Focus. Most of these talents are non-negotiable. However, if you have so much throughput that you have 75% of your mana left by the end of 90% boss fights, you probably have too much throughput and could be more effective with more output.ģ/3 Improved Water Shield, 1/3 Healing Focus, 1/1 Tidal Force, 3/3 Ancestral Healingģ/3 Restorative Totems, 5/5 Tidal MasteryĢ/2 Blessing of the Eternals, 2/2 Improved Chain Heal, 3/3 Nature's Blessingģ/3 Ancestral Awakening, 1/1 Earth Shield, 2/2 Improved Earth Shieldĥ/5 Thundering Strikes, 3/3 Improved Shields, 3/3 Elemental Weapons Crit, haste and (to a lesser extent) spell power are output stats.Īs you read through this guide, keep in mind that Throughput > Output until your mana is always comfortable. Output tends to eat into your mana more as you put more points into output stats. ![]() Output refers to the amount of mass healing you can chunk out in a few seconds. Mp5, restoration spells and effects and how often you cast spells all assist throughput. Throughput refers to being able to heal as needed throughout a fight. It is imperative that you understand these intertwined but distinct concepts if you want to be an effective healer. This guide is meant to be a comprehensive Restoration Shaman guide specifically geared towards the release of Algalon – rather than focusing on specific BiS lists and setups I hope to impart concepts that will be useful and applicable throughout your experience on the eternally progressive server. I know there is already a resto shammy guide here, but I already put so much work into this I can't bear to drop it. Older guides from previous Wrath patches were hard to find, sparse and/or incomplete, so I decided to write my own. While I like to speak in an authoritative manner, please don't assume I think I know everything – if you have suggestions for improvements to this guide, please offer them!Īfter I looked through the web for a 3.3.5 Resto Shammy guide I found out that all the ones that were there were for ToC to ICC geared players, and were not extremely helpful to people about to crash Naxx. I played Retail from ToC to Dragon Soul, and am a fairly experienced raider, though far from elite as I've only cleared ICC a few times in my career. Hello, I am Daphene, a Restoration Shaman main from King Slayers. ![]()
